Akihabara and Ueno in Tokyo, which are popular with tourists, are very unique areas with completely different atmospheres and characteristics, even though they are adjacent to each other.

Akihabara, commonly known as "Akiba", is famous as a sacred place for Japanese subcultures such as manga, anime, and games. It is also widely known as Japan's number one electronics town, and there are many stores specializing in electronic parts and IT products. If you look back at the history of Akihabara, it was a residential area where many lower-class samurai lived during the Edo period. It also served as a center for logistics, and one little-known piece of history is that there was a station called Old Mansei Station near Mansei Bridge spanning the Kanda River.

On the other hand, Ueno now has a strong image of nature and culture, such as Ueno Park, which includes the Ueno Zoo famous for pandas, the National Museum, and art museums, but historically it was a place with very close ties to the Tokugawa family. It is also a lively town where the atmosphere of the time can be seen throughout, such as the Ameyoko shopping street, which evolved from the post-war black market.

Let's go on a walk around Akihabara and Ueno that can be enjoyed by both adults and children!
